The Hidden Tax on Truckers

Every pre-trip you skip
is a ticket waiting.

FMCSA Part 393 requires functional brake lights and a sealed air system before you roll. The only way to verify both is to hold the brake pedal down while you walk the rig.

Without a second driver, that inspection just doesn't happen. So drivers roll out blind. And DOT officers know it.

Brake Checker Pro is the patented steel rod that holds the pedal for you. While you do the inspection that keeps your CSA score clean and your truck on the road.

The Driver Behind The Tool

Built by a trucker.
Because he lived this.

After years running long-haul out of Texas, Rommel watched too many drivers eat DOT tickets for things they had no way to catch alone. Here’s what officers don’t advertise: after an inspection, the law gives you 15 minutes to fix what they found before they can write you up. The problem is most drivers can’t check or repair their own lights and air leaks solo, so they just wait for the ticket. Rommel machined the first Brake Checker Pro in his own shop in Crosby to fix exactly that: a lightweight tool one driver can use to check brake lights and air leaks in seconds, in any heat, without a helper and without shutting the truck down.

To Rommel this is bigger than a tool. It’s peace of mind and fewer tickets, but it’s also safer roads, fewer breakdowns, and fewer drivers stranded on the shoulder hoping their lights are bright enough that nobody runs into them. And because it’s a deductible business expense for owner-operators and fleets, the tool basically pays for itself. He built the thing he always wished he’d had.

How It Works

Ninety seconds.
Three steps. Done.

Built for solo drivers. Works on every class 7-8 rig. Fits free-swinging and floor-mounted pedals.

01

Build Pressure

Start the engine. Let air pressure build to operating level. Your gauges tell you when it's set.

02

Wedge The Bar

Slide Brake Checker Pro between the brake pedal and the seat bracket. Twist the collar to lock it. Pedal stays pressed.

03

Walk & Inspect

Walk the truck and trailer. Every brake light verified. Every air line listened to. Roll out clean.

Why It Pays

The math is simple.

An out-of-service violation costs the average owner-operator $500 to $2,000 in lost loads, fines, and downtime. Brake Checker Pro is $79.99. Prevent one ticket and the tool has paid for itself ten times over.

"Used to make my buddy ride along just to hold the pedal. Now I pre-trip my W900 before the sun's up and roll out. Caught a busted right rear light my first week with it."

FAQ

The questions drivers ask first.

Will it fit my truck?
Yes. Brake Checker Pro is adjustable to fit class 7-8 commercial rigs with both free-swinging and floor-mounted brake pedals. Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, International. If you drive a semi, it fits.
Is it DOT-approved?
Brake Checker Pro is a driver-side inspection tool, not regulated equipment on the truck. It helps you comply with FMCSA Part 393 brake light and air system pre-trip requirements by making the walkaround inspection possible solo.
How long does it last?
Steel construction with rubber feet. Drivers have been running the same unit for five-plus years. There's nothing to wear out. The pedal and seat-bracket end-caps can be replaced if they ever do.
What if it doesn't work for me?
30-day no-questions-asked returns on unused tools. If your cab geometry doesn't accept it or the workflow doesn't fit your route, send it back for a full refund.
Shipping and turnaround?
Ships from Crosby, Texas. Two to five business days continental US. Tracking emailed when it leaves the warehouse.
Can I use it on a trailer too?
Yes. The whole point is that the tool holds your tractor's brake system pressurized while you walk both the tractor and the trailer. Air lines, glad hands, ABS lights, and every brake lamp on the combo.
Is there a warranty?
A 30-day defect guarantee covers any manufacturing flaw — we'll replace it or refund you, no questions. Beyond 30 days, steel doesn't quit. Drivers have been running the same unit for five-plus years without issue. If a rubber foot ever wears, email us and we'll send a replacement.
Do you offer fleet or bulk pricing?
Yes. If you're outfitting a fleet or buying multiple units, email sales@brakecheckerpro.com with how many you need and we'll send back a quote. We work with owner-operators running 2 trucks all the way up to fleet managers with 50+.
Can I expense Brake Checker Pro as business equipment?
Yes. Brake Checker Pro is inspection equipment used to perform required DOT pre-trip checks. Owner-operators and fleets typically expense it as equipment or supplies. Talk to your tax professional for your specific situation.
